Las Vegas has five casinos that have the same names as Atlantic City Casinos. These are Bally's, Caesars, Harrah's, Hilton and Tropicana.

One of the World Series of Poker's qualifying events was held at Caesar's in Atlantic City during March of 2008. The World Series of Poker final event will be held at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas from May 30 to June 16, 2008. Link to: Rio

MGM Grand

There is an MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas and soon there will be one in Atlantic City.

A recent trend in Las Vegas is to build Mega-Casinos which are total vacation and entertainment destinations. An example is the MGM Grand.

This same trend to build Mega-Casinos is coming to Atlantic City. MGM Mirage, which co-owns the Borgata with Boyd Gaming, has plans to develop a $5 billion casino resort on 72 acres of land it owns next to the Borgata in the Atlantic City's Marina District. This MGM Grand will include a gleaming gambling palace with three towers. It will have 3,000 hotel rooms, and a gaming floor with 200 gaming tables and 5,000 slot machines. It is intended to be a full-scale destination resort.
