Revel recently announced that they will open for businees in stages, starting April 2, 2012. Most of the resort is expected to be operational by Labor Day. They wiil begin taking reservations on March 5th.

Revel Entertainment began construction in 2007. Construction was stopped in 2009 when the economy went sour and the credit market dried up. Revel managed to complete the structure and exterior of the building before work stopped.
On February 17th 2011, Revel Entertainment announced that it had obtained the required $1.15 Billion in additional financing to complete construction.
The State of NJ helped the project get the financing when it agreed to a $261 Million future tax rebate plan.
Revel will have about 1800 guest rooms and suites. The present plan includes 14 restaurants, two night clubs, 2 theaters, a huge spa and 43 retail outlets. One of the nightclubs will be a burlesque style striptease club called Forty Dueces.
It will also have a two acre sky garden overlooking the beach and ocean. The sky garden will have fire pits, cabanas, pools and bars. There will be an indoor-outdoor pool with a waterfall.
There will be a 145,000 sq. ft. casino floor, with a dual level circular bar in the middle of the casino floor. The casino will have 2,400 slot machines.
Revel is being built at the north end of the boardwalk, just north of the Showboat Casino Hotel. It is now scheduled to open in the summer of 2012.
Direcrly across the boardwalk from Revel is the Garden Pier. The Garden Pier houses the Atlantic City Historical Museum and Art Center. The end section of the pier was badly damaged by a hurricane in 1944.
The Historical Museum and Art Center are scheduled to be refurbished and upgraded, and damaged portion of the pier are to be removed.
Entertainment
Revel's entertainment program will center
on Ovation Hall, which will be a multi-purpose
room that can accommodate up to 5,500 people. Revel will also have a smaller, more intimate,
1000 seat theater.
A nightclub with real zip is to be unveiled at Revel with the opening of Ivan Kane’s Royal Jelly Burlesque Nightclub. The club, which was created just for Revel and takes cues from Kane’s renowned Forty Deuce clubs in Hollywood and Las Vegas, is set to scintillate audiences nightly with highly choreographed burlesque performances from more than a dozen dancers while a live band provides the soundtrack. Ivan Kane’s Royal Jelly will be one of two distinctly different nightlife experiences available at the resort opening this spring.
Revel is planning an active enterainment schedule, that will feature major acts and shows. Acts rumored to be coming include the band Maroon 5 and Coldplay.
Revel Restaurants
One thing is for sure, Revel will have numerous nifty new restaurants, maybe as many as 14.
Recently Revel revealed that celebrity Iron Chef Jose Garces will open three new restaurants at the Revel. These being "Amada,"an Andalusian tapas bar," "The Viilage Whisky," sepcializing in burgers and "Distrito Cantina", a mexican margarita bar. These are all variations of prominent restaurants that Garces runs in Phladelphia.
Revel also recently announced that Marc Forgione will open an American Cut steak house at Revel this spring. Forgione will be the fifth Iron Chef in Atlantic City. Besides Jose Garces who will also be at Revel, there are Wolfgang Puck, Geoffrey Zakarian and Bobby Flay at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
Revel also recently announced that Renowned Chef Robert Wiedmaier to Open Mussel Bar at Revel. Revel will put some muscle into Continental cuisine when the award-winning chef and master of Belgian cuisine, Robert Wiedmaier, opens the first extension of his popular gastro-pub, Mussel Bar, outside of the Washington Metro Area at the resort this spring. Paying homage to Wiedmaier’s roots, the inspiration for Mussel Bar draws from an old-world Belgian roadhouse serving Bière, Moules & revel_wiedmaierFrites, and other Flemish favorites.
Revel will have an Italian Cafe named Lugo Caffe. There is already a Lug Caffe in New York City, that draws a sports crowd near Madison Square Garden. Chef Chiaruga will offer a wide choice of traditional Italian American comfort food.
There will also be an Azure, an upscale Italian restaurant, which will be run by Chef Alain Allegretti, another New York based chef. Azure will fuse Italian and French Riviera cuisine.
Revel also revealed that internationally known chef, Michel Richard, will open 2 restaurants at the Revel, these being: The "O Bistro and Wine Bar" and the "Breakfast Room." Chef Richard's menus will showcase his American cuisine, with a French accent.
