Although Atlantic City is best known for its beaches, boardwalk, and casinos, there are some nifty golf courses around the city. Walter Hagan practiced at the Links at Brigantine Beach to tune up for the British Open. The term "Birdie" was coined at the Atlantic City Country Club, a course Ben Hogan played.

The Ladies Professional Golf Association will make a tour stop in Atlantic City when it returns to the Seaview Marriott's Bay Course June 14-20, 2010. The ShopRite Classic, will be a 54-hole event with a $1.5M prize purse.
