Vanessa Williams is a singer, songwriter, model and actress from New York.

In 1984 Vanessa was crowned Miss America, but a scandal caused her to relinquish her title early. Williams went on to have a successful career in the entertainment industry.

Vanessa released her debut album, "The Right Stuff" in 1988. The album reached gold status in the U.S. and earned her three Grammy Award nominations, including one for Best New Artist. Her second album "The Comfort Zone" was an even bigger success. It contained the hit single "Save the Best For Last." The album sold 2.2 million copies in the U.S. and was certified triple platinum.

Her third album, "The Sweetest Days," was released in 1994 to rave reviews. Other of her albums include two Christmas albums, "Star Bright," released in 1996, "Silver & Gold" in 2004, "Next" in 1997, "Everlasting Love" in 2005, a "Greatest Hits" album released in 1998, and a host of others released over the years.

Williams has also had a successful acting career. Her skills as an actress on stage, in film and on television have earned praise from the most seasoned of critics. Presently she is a member of the cast of Desperate Housewives.

Vanesa is quite active on the theater and casino tour circuit. She often performs in Atlantic City.
