
Carrie Underwood is a country pop singer and songwriter. The winner of the fourth season of the TV show "American Idol," she has since become a multi-platinum selling recording artist and a multiple Grammy Award winner.
The first country American Idol, Carrie Underwood grew up in the small town of Checotah, Oklahoma, and began singing with her church at the age of three. She also learned to play guitar and piano.
Underwood's debut album, "Some Hearts," was certified seven times platinum and was the fastest-selling debut country album ever. Her second album, "Carnival Ride," was released on October 23, 2007. It has so far sold over 2.8 million copies. Underwood's most recent album is "Play On." It's first single, "Cowboy Casonova," reached the top ten in it's first four weeks.
Carrie Underwood also has a great interest in sports. In 2005, she performed the Star-Spangled Banner at game four of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons, and in 2006 at the NBA All-Star Game.
Most recently, Underwood was honored as one of three of the most influential entertainers in America, and was named "Sexiest Female Country Artist" by "Country Weekly." Carrie maintains a busy tour schedule, and her tour stops include Atlantic City.
