
Rob Thomas is a rock recording artist and songwriter. He is the primary songwriter and lead singer of the band "Matchbox Twenty." Thomas also performs and records as a solo artist.
In 2005, after nearly 10 years with Matchbox Twenty, Thomas began his solo career with the release of the album "Something to Be," which shot to #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Thomas's latest album "Cradlesong" has just been recently released.
Thomas is also much in demand as a songwriter having lent his songwriting talents to such artists as Tom Petty, Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony, Pat Green, Taylor Hicks, Travis Tritt, Santana, Daughtry and others.
Between "Matchbox Twenty," his solo work, and his various collaborations with artists like Santana and Mick Jagger, more than 80 million albums he has been involved in, have been sold worldwide.
In 2007, Thomas reunited with "Matchbox Twenty" to record “Exile on Mainstream,” their first album in five years. The album is a compilation of their greatest hits. Going forward, Thomas plans to split his time between his solo career and "Matchbox Twenty."
