
James Taylor is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. James was raised in North Carolina, but now lives in western Massachusetts.
James released the song "Sweet Baby James" in 1970. It went triple-platinum and was followed by his first Top 10 hit, "Fire and Rain". Some of his other hit songs are: "Country Road," "Something in The Way She Moves," "Mexico," "Shower The People," "Your Smiling Face," "Carolina In My Mind," "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight," "You Can Close Your Eyes," "Walking Man," "Never Die Young," "Shed A Little Light," and "Copperline." He has sold some 40 million albums throughout his career. Taylor's songs have had a major influence on both songwriters and music lovers of all generations and from all walks of life.
Taylor's more recent hits include: "That's Why I'm Here," "Never Die Young," "New Moon Shine" and "Live at the Troubadour." In 2008 Taylor, issued his album "Covers," which was nominated for two Grammy Awards. Covers features Taylor’s full band and is his own musical interpretation of tunes from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Taylor performed on the final The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on May 29, 2009, being the last musician to appear in Leno's original 17-year run. On January 18th, 2009, he performed at the We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration, at the Lincoln Memorial.
James Taylor has toured all over the world, always playing to large, appreciative audiences. He often performs in Atlantic City.
