Air Supply are a soft rock music duo consisting of British guitarist and vocalist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock. They started playing pizza parlors, coffee bars and night clubs with just one guitar and two voices. They became well known during the early 80s and 90s with a succession of worldwide hits.
Although they often play as a duo, they
sometimes fill out to a 5 man band
adding a guitarist, a keyboardist and a drummer. They drew a lot of attention with their first album
"Love and Other Bruises," but didn't really start moving until they released their second album "Life Support,"
which included the hit single "Lost in Love." "Lost in Love" became the fastest selling single
in the world in 1980 and was named "song of the year."
Other of their hit albums include "I'll Never Get Enough," "Now and Forever" and "Vanishing Race." In 1989 their album "Earth Is" sold over a million copies outside of the U.S. Their "Greatest Hits" album includes the single "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" which was one of their biggest hits ever, eventually selling 5 million copies.
