Sting is an English musician, singer-songwriter and actor. His real name is Gordon Sumner. Sting was the lead singer and songwriter of the rock band The Police, however he later went on establish his own solo career.

In 1977 Sting, along with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, formed The Police rock band. Between 1978 and 1983, The Police released five chart-topping albums and won six Grammy Awards. Their album, "Synchronicity," included their most successful song, "Every Breath You Take."

In 1985 Sting issued his first solo album "The Dream of the Blue Turtle." It included the hit single "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free." The album went triple platinum and was nominated for a Grammy, Album of the Year. Sting went on to have a long and extremely successful solo career and became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Sting continues to perform and record. In 2009 he released his latest album "If On A Winters Night." Sting also plays numerous live engagements which include performances in Atlantic City.
