
The Spinners are a soul music vocal group originating from Detroit, Michigan in 1961.
Their timeless, classic sound has univesral appeal. Throughout the years, they have acquired twelve gold records with hits on top of both Pop and R&B charts. They are also one of the few groups who can boast of having four lead singers.
The band consists of original members Bobbie Smith,
Henry Fambrough, and Pervis Jackson. They are joined on-stage by lead singer Charlton Washington, high tenor Harold “Spike” DeLeon,
and
a 5-piece band.
They have been awarded the Rhythm and Blues Foundation Award for their contribution to R & B. The group has performed for presidents, received a star on the Hollywood “Walk of Fame,” and has appeared in numerous network and cable television specials.
The Spinners are big draws on the oldies and nostalgia concert circuits and continue to play the music that made them famous. They often perform in Atlantic City.
