John Pizzarelli is a jazz guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and bandleader from New Jersey.
Pizzarelli has been playing guitar since age six, following in the tradition of his father; guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli. He began playing with his father at age 20, before going out on his own.
He has recorded twenty-three albums of his own, as well as other joint recordings with his father. He has also appeared on more than forty albums of other recording artists, including those of James Taylor, Rosemary Clooney and his wife, Jessica Molaskey. Perhaps his own most highly-regarded album, is" Dear Mr. Cole," an album featuring Pizzarelli's versions of some of Nat "King" Cole's most famous songs.
John often performs with his own jazz quartet, composed of his brother Martin Pizzarelli on double-bass, drummer Tony Tedesco and Larry Fuller on piano. He is sometimes compared to another jazz singer, Harry Connick, Jr., for his performances of jazz standards and overall popularity.
Pizzarelli tours throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, performing classic pop, jazz and swing. He often performs in Atlantic City.
