At the Borgata

Maxwell performed a concert at the Borgata's "Event Center," in Atlantic City, on Friday, July 24th, 2009 to a sold-out crowd, where the gals outnumbered the guys.

The seductive bedroom singer started off with "Get to Know Ya" and then went into "Bad Habits" where he asks a paramour to "prove it to me in the nude." He sang songs from his hit album "BLACKsummers'night," including the song "Pretty Wings," which he dedicated to Aretha Franklin, who was in the audience.

Maxwell's performance at the Borgata was the subject of a favorable review published in the Monday, July 28th, 2009 issue of "The Philadelphia Inquirer."

In Newsweek

Maxwell was featured in an August 3rd, 2009 Newsweek Magazine article entitled: "What's Goin' On (In R&B)?"

The article stated that Maxwell's music made him a leading sex symbol of "90s neo-soul. What's going on in R&B is that Hip-hop has absorbed it.

Citing Maxwell's first album in eight years, "BLACKsummers'night," which hit the top of the Billboard 200 in it's first week, Newsweek proclaimed that Maxwell is back on top.
