Melissa Manchester

Melissa Manchester, born in 1951, is a singer, songwriter and actress from New York.

While attending New York University, she enrolled in a song-writing class taught by Paul Simon. She began performing as a solo singer and pianist in the clubs around Manhattan, where she was discovered by Bette Midler and Barry Manilow.

She played at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall as a back up singer for Bette Midler. She went on to perform on her own, to sold-out audiences throughout the country.

Her hit recordings include "Midnight Blue," "When I Look Down the Road"
and "You Should Hear How She Talks About You," for which she won a Grammy for best Female Vocal Performance.

Songs that Melissa has written have been recorded by Barbara Streisand, Dustry Springfield, Roberta Flack, Johhny Mathis and others.

You can often find Melissa Manchester performing live along the arena and casino tour circuits. One of her favorite stops is Atlantic City.
