
John Legend, (John Stephens) is a recording artist, musician and actor from Ohio.
Legend released his first album, "Get Lifted," in 2004. It debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 116,000 copies in its first week. It was certified Platinum and went on to sell three million copies worldwide. The album's single, "Ordinary People" went straight to number one and the single "Used to Love U" made the top 100.
Johns second album, "Once Again" and his following album, "Evolver" were also hits. "Once again" contains the single "Again" which John says is his personal favorite, and which he says he got the idea for while waiting for a subway train.
John's voice, and piano playing is often heard on other albums where he has collaborated with other recording artists including: Kanye West, Jay-Z, Sergio Mendes, Ana Carolina and Janet Jackson.
John Legend is in high demand to perform at various events. In 2008, he performed at the Democratic National Convention. In 2009, he performed at halftime of the NBA All Star Game. He recently sang the national anthem at the 2009 World Series, and performed with Stevie Wonder at Madison Square Garden on the same night.
John spends much of his time on the arena and casino tour circuits, and his tour stops include Atlantic City.
