Cyndi Lauper is an award-winning singer-songwriter and actress. She was one of the biggest stars of the early MTV era, selling five million copies of her debut album, "She's So Unusual."

Lauper became popular with teenagers and critics, in part due to her hybrid punk image. Lauper's thin, girlish voice and gleefully ragtag appearance became one of the most distinctive images of the early '80s, which helped lead her not only to the top of the charts, but also to stardom.

Although Cyndi's subsequent recordings have been less successful, she still has a strong following and fan base.

Cyndi often performs in Atlantic City. In 2009 she played a concert series entitled "Girls Night Out," headlining with Rosie O'Donnell, which included a stop in Atlantic City.
