John Fogerty is a rock singer, songwriter and a guitarist from California. He is best known for the time he spent as the lead singer and chief songwriter for the Credance Clearwater Revival(CCR) rock band.
Fogerty played with CCR for 5 years, but then split from the band in 1972. While with CCR he wrote numerous classic songs including: "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Down on the Corner," Have You Ever Seen the Rain" and "Bayou Country."
After he went solo, Fogerty released the album "Blue Ridge Rangers" which consisted of covers, mostly country. He later achieved a major success with his album "Centerfield" which was about baseball and which is often played at baseball games between innings and at the Baseball Hall of Fame. "Centerfield" includes the hit single "The Old Man Down the Road." In 2008 he released a revised version of "The Blue Ridge Rangers" titled "The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again." Fogerty's most recent album is "Comin Down the Road," a DVD of a concert at London's Royal Albert Hall.
John owns, and plays, a large selection of guitars. One of his favorites is a bat shaped guitar he calls "Slugger." He maintains a busy tour schedule that includes stops in Atlantic City.
