The Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), was a symphonic rock group formed in the U.K. by bassist Jeff Lynne and guitarist Roy Wood in 1971. Wood soon departed but Lynne went on to write and arrange all of the groups compositions and to produce all of ELOs albums. Other members of the original group were bassist Rick Price and drummer Bev Bevan.

Although the group was from Britain, the band had their greatest success in the U.S. Their music fused beatles style pop rock with classical, which was well received in the U.S. and by the mid 1970s they had become one of the biggest selling bands of all time selling over 100 million records worldwide.

In 1988 a second version of ELO, ELO2 was formed led by Bev Bevan. ELO2 included keyboardist Eric Troyer, bassist Pete Haycock and vocalist Neil Lockwood.

A group consisting of the members of both ELO1 and ELO2 often still tour, and generate those great ELO sounds. When they do, their tour stops included Atlantic City.
