Dennis DeYoung is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer best known for being a founding member of the rock band Styx, a tenure which lasted from 1970 to 1999.
Within Styx, DeYoung acted as lead vocalist, keyboardist, accordion player, producer, writer and creative force behind many of the band's hit songs. A self-taught keyboardist, DeYoung became one of the most notable players of that instrument in rock.
After the group broke up, Dennis developed some health problems, but is now healthy again.
On June 19, 2007, DeYoung released in Canada, "One Hundred Years from Now," his fifth solo album, which marks a return to his rock roots. The first single, the title track, is a duet with Québécois singer Éric Lapointe. The single reached #1 on the Québec Radio Single and Soundscan charts. In April, 2009, it was released in the U.S.
During 2009, Dennis toured the United States to promote his CD, "One Hundred Years From Now." His tour schedule included Atlantic City.
