Depeche Mode is an English electronic music band, formed in 1980. The band influenced many of today's popular recording artists, in part due to their recording techniques and innovative use of sampling and synthesizers.

Present members of the band are Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin Gore (guitar, keyboards, vocals and songwriting) and Andrew Fletcher (keyboards).

Depeche Mode is one of the longest-lived, most successful and influential bands to have emerged from the New Wave era. It has placed forty-five songs on the UK Singles Charts, as-well-as one U.S. and two UK number one albums. According to EMI, Depeche Mode has sold over 100 million albums and singles worldwide.

Some of the band's hits include "Speak and Spell," "A Broken Flame," "People are People," and "Enjoy the Silence." "Violater" was the band's most successful album, selling almost 4 million copies. In 2005 "Playing the Angel" placed high on the charts. In January, 2009 the Depeche Mode website announced the release of their album "Sounds of the Universe."

The band's current tour features songs from "Sounds of the Universe" and other of their hits. Their tour stops include Atlantic City.
