Harry Connick Jr.

Harry Connick Jr. is a singer, pianist, composer, and actor from Louisiana. He started his musical career early; he played the keyboard at 3 and performed the piano Concerto No. 3 Opus 37 of Beethoven with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra when he was 9 years old.

Connick's first recorded album "Harry Connick Jr." consisted mainly of instrumental standards but he soon expanded into jazz and then vocals.

In 1990 he released the instrumental jazz album "Lofty's Roach Souffle" and a big band album of mostly original songs titled "We Are in Love, which went double platinum and earned him a Grammy for Best Jazz Male Vocal. In 1992, Connick released "25," a solo piano collection of standards that also went platinum. In 2003, he released his second Christmas album, "Harry for the Holidays", which went gold and reached No. 12 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Harry's most recent album, the CD Your Songs, was released in 2009. Overall Connick has sold over 25 million albums worldwide.

Harry's acting career includes films, TV and Broadway. His first film was "Memphis Belle" in 1990, about a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber crew in World War II. In 2009 he starred in the film "New in Town" with Renee Zellweger.

Connick has toured Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. He often performs in Atlantic City.
