Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to prominence after she became the winner on the first season of the television series "American Idol," in 2002.

Since then she has toured extensively, both in the U.S. and internationally, to much acclaim. She has also released 4 recorded albums with sales exceeding 20 million worldwide. Her first album "Thankful" went multi-platinum and her second album, "Breakaway," won 2 Grammy Awards.

Kelly started out singing mostly pop but more recently moved to a more rock oriented style. Her fourth album "All I Ever Wanted," released in 2009, includes the single "My Life Would Suck Without You," which quickly went to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

Clarkson's voice is said to be one of the best in the business. Simon Cowell said of all the American Idol winners, Kelly Clarkson's voice is the best. He said "She is "up-there" with other great singers such as Celine Dion."

Kelly Clarkson loves to perform live. She says that when she is recording an album, she is always thinking of how it will sound live. Kelly is quite active on the theater and casino tour circuit, and one of her favorite stops is Atlantic City.
